The Things We Do For Our Kids
Tomorrow night I head out (actually tomorrow afternoon) with my son to watch the USA vs. Canada Olympic teams play an exhibition game here in Vegas. I got an email warning to day from the venue (Thomas and MackP) saying “please arrive an hour and a half prior to tip-off due to expected turnout”. In other words, it is going to be stinking crowded. My son is completely pumped. I have no clue where he gets this NBA passion and personally, I can’t stand it. Give me a good college game anytime. The high paid, little-effort of the dudes who call the NBA their league is depressing and uninteresting to me. But in any case, Austin loves it and is a big Steve Nash fan… so we’re going. I hope the guys give a reasonable effort — I’m afraid my effort may be greater just navigating the late afternoon Vegas traffic to get there. But so be it.
Even thought I’m bitter about it,
do I still get credit for Father-Son bonding?
