Coffee
Sitting at the local “It’s a Grind” coffee spot. Not extremely cool, but good (refillable) coffee available and wi-fi for the taking. Still waiting for Starbucks to transition from the whole Hot-Spot fiasco so I can use my Mac while sipping my Americano with an inch of steamed breve. My pattern when I head for the coffee shop is as follows
1. Stop for Breakfast burrito at Roberto’s (it’s authentic – like being in Tijuana) if I’m in the mood
2. Grab a USA Today (sorry, but I still enjoy reading my news off the page rather than online at this point) something about the whole folding pages thing — I’m working on it
3. Grab a medium (they don’t like it when you use the “grande” term) coffee, select my flavor of the day, and sit myself down in a cushy chair.
4. Begin reading the main USA today section all the way through. Pause at the editorials and then check the weather in the various places that I care about. Make my way quickly through the money section (I probably should spend more time). then into sports. Finally I wrap it up in the Life section.
5. At this point I get up and refill my coffee which has now grown cold and/or empty.
6. At this point I usually throw my Mac open (notice the mac reference again) and check email, facebook, any blog stuff, and any other news I didn’t already read.
So that’s it — coffee is great, but the environment is even better.
What’s your favorite coffee place where you live?

Americano with 1″ of steamed breve? sounds familiar? I recall you mocking my order.?
So? You got a mac? Yea? Macbook pro?

Lee, if you never made it up to Zoka’s in the U-District or Greenlake then your coffee shop experiences are incomplete.
I like to study at Starbucks – no internet means no distraction.
I’ll do my internet coffee shop time at Saxby’s, it’s just like It’s A Grind (free Wi-Fi and all) except the coffee doesn’t suck. Plus, I have gotten to know the owners and baristas and openly root for their success.
I switch up between hot and cold coffee determining how how much the establishment uses it’s AC.
